Hello, I am
Actor Singer Performer San Francisco Bay Area

About Me

Janine began performing at the age of six when she stepped into the role of Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, memorizing not only her own lines but everyone else's as well. She continued performing and studying theatre, singing, dance, and piano through college. For a brief period of time, she considered the possibility of becoming a doctor but then realized that the stage was where she wanted to be. She graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno, receiving a BFA in Theatre Performance and a BS in Health Sciences.

Janine is now based in the San Francisco Bay Area. She is a proud member of Actors' Equity Association and, in addition to performing, also has experience as a director and choreographer. When not onstage, she enjoys playing board games, hanging out with her pets, traveling, gardening, doing DIY projects, watching TV, and reading fiction novels.

In a mostly silent role, Janine Burgener puts on an incredibly cute and happy face as Snoopy's best friend, Woodstock.

I was charmed by [Janine] Burgener's vibrant little bird, Woodstock's dance.

Janine Burgener gave a fine performance as the wife of one of the ex-soldiers.

Petite Janine Burgener... does have a beautiful voice for 'The Image of You'.

... the Willows ensemble are all standouts - no weak link in the bunch... Burgener masters her character's broken English with great comic timing...

Jordan DeLong and Janine Burgener make a riotous comic/straight man team as human couple Brian and Christmas Eve.

Janine Burgener, whose Christmas Eve threatens to be cliché in early scenes, winds up stealing the heart of the show with 'The More You Ruv Someone.'

...what makes it all work so well is the hugely talented cast, gifted with a remarkable sense of comedic timing and know-how, and great singing pipes.

The contrast between the... team of Blisset and Paige and the trio so playfully portrayed by Payne, Burgener and Angell makes for an entertaining and satisfying evening.

Performances by... Janine Burgener (nice physical comedy and adept silliness as Dromio of Ephesus)... lead a uniformally fine cast.

...Janine Burgener, an actress of elfish beauty, slim figure and expressive countenance...

Most of the actors are adept at both the humor and the drama... Burgener is a charming Lala... Her weeping is hysterical, and her turn in a plantation ballgown absolutely wonderful.

Janine Burgener (double cast as Louise Lerman and Eve)... deliver[s] equally top drawer and very funny characterizations.

"Titus Andronicus's" most poignant scene is between Titus's brother, Marcus (solidly acted by James Scoggins), and his brutalized daughter, Lavinia (sensitively realized by Janine Burgener), and is beautifully managed by both actors.

But Burgener's performance, which could have been benign, is infused with tragedy. Initially she appears the good daughter, the ingenue. But after her rape, the amputation of her hands and removal of her tongue, she becomes a mute testament to despair.

Janine Burgener (Meredith) is a mess and grand at it.

Susy is a great character, and Burgener does an excellent job of portraying her transformation from cripple to bad-ass.
